The control should be easy to jump with. With so many projects going on these days, especially large-scale integrated control projects for refining and chemical processing, it requires strong capabilities to undertake them. You can do it by yourself too! Entrepreneurship and innovation!

I only work with DCS, so there must be many limitations, right? What do you think is more important for those who work in control: knowing certain skills or something else?
What do you do specifically? I feel that those who work with DCS these days are mostly involved in maintenance or engineering tasks. However, it’s not easy to find such good jobs either.
Yes, I work with field instruments, actuators, PLCs, and DCS systems. I have experience in everything from engineering design and installation to construction, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs. I’ve been in this field for 16 years. In my opinion, various industries are paying more and more attention to instrument control, as automation levels continue to rise. Those working in this field need to constantly improve their professional skills; it’s not possible to rely on past achievements forever
Mainly, in our environment, the DCS and the on-site PLCs are separated. How do you think it’s possible to learn other things in such an environment? Please give me some advice! !
It’s definitely difficult to switch jobs solely in the DCS field. These days, many companies and headhunters are looking for interdisciplinary talents with a background in systems, as well as knowledge of field instruments and processes.
