What are the specific advantages of FCS over DCS in terms of control? I hope everyone will have an extensive discussion, especially those with practical experience. ①For equipment management, Hart can also be used to achieve this. Moreover, DCS systems use hardwired connections, which are actually more reliable. ②It saves costs on cables, safety barriers, and wiring, but the cost of the instrument hardware increases. Overall, it may not save that much. ③In terms of risk dispersion, although FCS can control the download of strategies to the field instruments, which seemingly disperses the risk, any problem with the communication lines can lead to issues. The instruments along the entire line are out of communication, which is also unacceptable from a process perspective.
