Although pantothenic acid is widely present in foods, 20% to 40% of it is lost during processing, and in some cases even up to 50%. Therefore, calcium D-pantothenate should be appropriately added to some fortified foods. According to the Health Standards for the Use of Food Nutrient Fortifiers issued by China’s Ministry of Health, 15–28 mg (based on pantothenic acid) should be added per kilogram of infant food, and 2–4 mg (based on pantothenic acid) should be added per kilogram of beverages. Additionally, calcium D-pantothenate can also be used in health foods. Currently, many health supplements both domestically and internationally contain calcium pantothenate, such as Yangshengtang’s “Adult Vitamins” and “Happy Growth”.
