When we leave home, we develop a longing for it; this is an unavoidable reality. It is only when we leave that we come to appreciate what we have; it is only when we are far away that we realize the warmth of the past will also fade away quietly. Only in the quiet moments do I alone and pitifully recall the landscapes of the past. We cannot catch the tail of time; it always flees mercilessly! Longing turns, in an instant, into bubbles that shine in the sunlight; it cannot withstand the scorching sun or compete with the stars and the moon. As distance increases, there remains a subtle pain… Loneliness keeps growing, and even as people move further apart, one heart still needs to remain close to another. Family affection is the most precious pearl, which needs to be carefully guarded. Love is the sweetest candy; the more you savor it, the stronger its sweetness becomes. Friendship is the sweetest song that should always be heard by our ears. So, don’t let pearls lose their luster, don’t keep candies apart for too long, don’t let songs vanish after many years, and don’t let attempts at reconciliation come up against separation and death. War brings suffering; lives, whether noble or humble, are lost amidst flying bullets, artillery fire, and dust, forced into exile. In people’s eyes, there is only the shadow of death and that silent, long night. Yet there is always a faint glimmer of light shining in the heart, flickering on and off; perhaps that is the happiest moment amidst all the suffering! Even though darkness covers the sky and night envelops the earth, hope endures on this earth, though faint and elusive. It was one of the countless reeds; it was thin, fragile, and swayed back and forth as winds howled above it. It was lucky, for it saw that some of the reeds in the distance had been uprooted, while it managed to withstand all of this. It loved the thrill of battling against the wind, along with the pain and agony that came with it. The wind was fierce, leaving vicious scars on its body; it could only cry inside itself. After crying, it would continue fighting. It was an endless struggle by the riverbank. If it’s impossible to overcome pain, then place that pain in an bottomless abyss, and build a bridge ahead for yourself – a bridge that leads to a land where flowers bloom. If the scars cannot be erased, then let the birds take away the pain, and draw a cloud in one’s own sky—a cloud that holds the eternal song of pursuing dreams. If pain cannot be avoided, then let it turn into a bright smile; dig a well for one’s own life, a well that is a source of happiness that will never run dry. Enjoying pain is also a kind of happiness.
