What is a coplanar flange, and what is the difference between it and a regular flange?
Planar gland flanges have no patterns; they are known as flat gland flanges, and there is not much difference between them and ordinary gland flanges. The sealing of the valve gland is done using gaskets, and not a large amount of them are used.

It is simply the most common type of flange, suitable for applications with no special requirements. Other types of flanges include raised face flanges/RF, male and female face flanges/MF, threaded face flanges/RJ, and tongue and groove flanges/TG. Additionally, there are internal threaded flanges used for high-pressure pipeline connections; the sealing in these cases is achieved through lens surfaces and lens gaskets on the pipelines, with the flange itself functioning more like a connecting element

I feel that some of the explanations upstairs seem a bit unreliable. As I understand it, a coplanar flange is a small flange used for installing instruments or certain sampling probes, specifically those used in instrument valve assemblies and pressure sensing diaphragms; it is not a flange intended for connecting process pipelines. The flange surfaces for connecting process pipelines include smooth surfaces, raised surfaces, ribbed surfaces, tenon-and-socket surfaces, ring-connected surfaces, etc.; the concept of coplanarity does not exist.
