I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this. Yesterday, there was another leak in the pipes on the cable tray, which caused a fire. Human monitoring has its limits; the pipes are located at great distances from each other and the piping system is complex. I would like to ask everyone in the group if there are any technical methods or devices that can enable automatic monitoring – devices that can regularly check the pipes on the cable trays. Does anyone’s factory have such equipment?
For leak detection in long-distance pipe tunnels, this has been done before by the factory: flow meters are installed at both ends, and the difference between the readings of these two flow meters is compared; when this difference reaches a set value, it is considered to be a leak, and the valves are shut off automatically. This approach can detect leaks that occur during continuous conveying or operation, but it is less effective at detecting leaks when conveying has stopped. The above is for reference only.
I don’t need something like this; it’s too expensive and its measurement isn’t accurate. What I mean is to find something that can monitor and measure thickness, so we can check it regularly
Yes, I once heard a director from a special equipment inspection agency say that such equipment does exist, but it is expensive; it’s mainly suitable for straight pipes, and when there are many bends, multiple inspections are required.
