For factories, separating rainwater from wastewater is a fundamental principle and also a key focus of inspections by environmental protection authorities. So, how can we prevent rainwater from entering the sewage system during heavy rainfall, especially to ensure that industrial wastewater and domestic sewage do not end up in the rainwater system due to overflows or similar issues? What measures are more effective in the event of sudden mixing of rainwater and sewage?

As you can see, even the factory area gets flooded – what else can be done in such situations? Or, simply, during the initial stage of construction at the factory site, raise the foundation so that it is higher than the surrounding terrain. . :Lol, even during heavy rain, the water flows to other places first. . .
1. During the rainy season, keep an eye on weather changes; make preparations in advance if heavy or torrential rain is expected; 2. The rainwater system is designed to operate at a low liquid level, thereby providing ample storage space within the system ; 3. Prepare water-blocking items such as sandbags and water bags ; 4. Make arrangements for emergency responders in advance.
Separate collection of rainwater and wastewater. During design, the device is equipped with internal cofferdams, and the height of these cofferdams is around 200 MM according to the specifications (I’ve forgotten the exact figure). During rain or heavy rainfall, the design takes into account the amount of initial rainwater; this water is collected in the sewage tank at first. The design of the sewage pumps must be capable of handling this volume to prevent the tank from overflowing and causing pollution incidents.

It is necessary and standard practice for chemical enterprises to implement separate systems for rainwater and wastewater from the design stage. Unless a company illegally installs pipes to discharge waste, there is no need to worry about the separation of rainwater and sewage under normal circumstances. There is also basically no need to worry about rainwater entering the sewage disposal system; it merely results in increased costs for sewage treatment and discharge. And the source of rainwater is, to some extent, initial rainwater. Clogged, broken, or leaking sewage pipes, or an excessive volume of water that cannot be discharged in time, may cause it to spill into the rainwater system. It is still necessary to ensure, through design, the capacity for sewage collection and discharge, and to guarantee, through construction, the quality of the tanks and pipelines.
Isn’t there a valve at the back? Even if rainwater and sewage enter the discharge tank together, if the analysis or testing shows that they don’t meet the standards, then everything has to be sent back; it cannot be discharged directly!
