May I ask: What is the cause of continuous oil leakage from the connector of the pressure gauge in the hot oil system? The pressure gauge, connectors, and gaskets have all been replaced, but it still leaks
Cut the joint and re-weld a new one
It might be that the gasket is too thin; even with the pressure gauge tightened all the way, the gasket still isn’t compressed properly. You can use two gaskets instead.
Is there any vibration in the pipeline connecting to the pressure gauge?
What is the temperature of the hot oil? What is the connection type for pressure gauge fittings? Is it a tapered thread or with a gasket at the bottom? What material is the gasket made of?
Thermal expansion and contraction – we use oil at 280 degrees Celsius, the pressure gauge connector is of type M20*1.6, and copper gaskets are used; however, there is some leakage. I’m not sure about the situation with the original poster’s setup, as there are also issues with new gauges and old connectors as well; the copper gaskets don’t fit tightly enough
Check whether the Bourdon tube under pressure is leaking
What kind of gasket is being used? If the thickness permits, add two. Some of our PTFE gaskets are not suitable; replacing them with graphite wound gaskets gives the right thickness~~~~
Replace the PTFE gasket and wrap more PTFE tape around it.
There is a plausible reason for the above: 1) The gasket is too thin; 2) The thread fit is of the metric type; verify the machining precision of the internal and external threads ; 3) Is the processing technique for the copper gasket incorrect, resulting in too little compression? 4) Was tape wrapped around it during replacement? Generally speaking, the sealing of metric pressure gauges relies mainly on gaskets ; Use a very small amount of tape – it’s actually used to compensate for the fit between the threads!
