I would like to ask everyone: does a high-speed pump require a strictly stable inlet pressure? I think we should install a high-speed pump for water injection, with gas introduced at the top of the inlet buffer tank, just like in other raw material tanks
The inlet should require stability; it doesn’t seem to have any particular requirements regarding pressure, right? As long as cavitation does not occur. Many high-speed pumps have an inducer at their inlet.
The net positive suction head of a pump is proportional to the square of its speed; the higher the speed, the greater the net positive suction head. Therefore, you need to check whether the inlet pressure is sufficient to meet this requirement
The key is the top seal of the inlet buffer tank; depending on the medium in use, if it is gas, gas is introduced into the tank’s top in other type of storage tanks – this is done both to prevent oxidation of the medium and to maintain stable pressure. Since the medium used in high-speed pumps is water, I think they are intended for maintaining stable pressure; therefore, I would like to ask whether the stability of the inlet pressure in high-speed pumps is subject to strict control
