5. Why is chemical dosing required for some waste boilers while it isn’t necessary for others?
We supply steam at 1.0 MPa and 0.3 MPa without adding chemicals, while chemicals are added only for steam at 3.5 MPa.
Why? Why is it not necessary to add chemicals at these two pressure levels?
I think there’s a rule regarding this: waste boilers of a certain lower rating don’t require chemical addition; I saw it before but have forgotten
Is your water not analyzed on schedule?
Chemical dosing is used to prevent corrosion and scaling. In low-pressure boilers, the impact of not using such chemicals is not as significant as in medium- and high-pressure boilers; therefore, some factories avoid using them in order to save money
Chemicals need to be added only when the water hardness in the north is too high, primarily to address the problem of scaling caused by the evaporation of boiler water; in areas with good water quality, no chemicals are required, as the calcium and magnesium levels meet the standards for boiler water.
This is likely related to the water that enters the boiler. If the pH and oxygen levels of the water entering the boiler have been adjusted in previous stages, then no chemicals need to be added. You need to understand the purpose of adding chemicals
It also depends on where the steam you produce is going, that is, its intended use. For applications with lower requirements, heating purposes alone may not require the addition of chemicals, as there isn’t much flocculation formed due to the low temperature of the waste heat exchanger
Generally, chemicals need to be added. Unless your water quality is good and your requirements for steam are not high.
Chemicals are added only to high and medium pressure boilers. Small boilers are not necessary
