Do all control systems require a UPS power supply? Should it still be installed based on importance? Thank you!
SH/T3082-2003 \"Code for Power Supply Design of Petrochemical Instruments\" stipulates that the power load of instruments and control systems is classified as a particularly important load among the first-class loads in accordance with SH3038. A UPS needs to be installed. When the electrical load for instruments belongs to category III, a UPS may not be required.

1. Power outage protection——In the event of a sudden power outage, the UPS immediately converts the battery’s direct current power into alternating current to continue supplying power. 2. High and low voltage protection – When the mains voltage is too high or too low, the UPS’s built-in voltage regulator (AVR) makes the necessary adjustments to keep the voltage within the acceptable range. If the voltage becomes too low or too high to be used safely, the UPS converts the DC power from the batteries into AC power to continue supplying electricity, thereby protecting the user’s equipment. 3. Waveform distortion treatment—Since electricity is transmitted to end-users via power transmission and distribution lines, the use of various machinery and equipment often leads to distortions in the voltage waveform of the mains electricity. Waveform distortion generates harmonics that interfere with equipment, and it also causes the temperature of transformers in power systems to rise; therefore, a certain level of distortion rate is required
