I received a call from the property management; they’re doing renovations downstairs and say there’s a leak in my apartment. I’m not here locally – what should I do? Do I need to have everything demolished in order to redo the waterproofing?

If no one is there, first turn off the main water valve at home to prevent the situation from worsening. Wait until they have left, then hire a professional waterproofing specialist to handle it.
The main issue is that the person isn’t there, and it’s difficult to get in touch for waterproofing work; it’s only possible to do it on weekends or whenever they return.

Does the property management not have the keys? If it doesn’t work, the elderly should go and have a look.

Did you change the lock, or is it still an AB key? I was doing home renovations at the time, and the property management and the renovation company were just chosen arbitrarily. The keys were given only after the renovation was completed.
This house has been delivered for many years; it’s not a new house that was just received.
