At the work sites where noise levels exceed 105 decibels by a significant margin, soundproof enclosures have been installed and workers wear earplugs. What additional protective measures can be taken?
Moving machinery or the pump body? Could we consider separating it and enclosing it in a small enclosure, making it airtight, with soundproofing material inside? Or consider new types of equipment. . . In the case of lathes or punching machines, in addition to individual protective measures and regular health checks for employees, supervisors also ensure that workers are wearing the necessary personal protective equipment.
The air compressor is equipped with a soundproof enclosure, earplugs are worn, regular health checks are conducted – are there any other protective measures?
1. Find ways to prevent people from going to this place or to reduce their visits, such as remote control or automation? 2. Find ways to seal the area where the equipment is located in order to reduce transmission routes? 3. Find a way to keep the location where the equipment is situated away from the workers’ work area?
Reduce the time that personnel spend working inside it. Our air compressor room is set up separately, with its doors and windows closed. It is kept at a certain distance from the production line.
It is recommended to make improvements in the following areas: 1. Isolate the noisy equipment to reduce the level of noise, thereby minimizing the number of people affected; 2. Try to limit inspections to only noisy equipment, thereby reducing the time personnel are exposed to such noise ; 3. Distribute protective equipment. Earplugs and ear muffs have different noise reduction levels; choose the appropriate protective equipment ; 4. Strengthen management by employing measures such as training, information provision, and inspections to reduce the harm caused by noise to affected individuals ; 5. Evaluate whether noise-generating equipment can be replaced through process measures. For example, if the air compressor is only used to supply air for the automatic control valves, could the pneumatic valves be replaced with electric valves? 6. When testing for occupational hazard factors, collect as many samples of individual noise levels as possible; this will enable a proper assessment of the comprehensive control measures in place for that position at your company. Do not merely detect the noise in that environment, as this does not provide an intuitive assessment of your overall control measures. Personal advice.
Adding insulation material can also eliminate some of them.
