Material issues with the thermal insulation support ring

Dear experts, 1. What material is generally suitable for insulation support rings? For our stainless steel containers, I would like to use carbon steel insulation support rings. Some customers have mentioned that it is difficult to drill holes in stainless steel for installation; I don’t understand why. 2. What are the standards for the design of thermal insulation support rings? 3. For insulation, it is generally placed directly on the insulation support ring, then tied up with wire, and covered with iron sheeting. It doesn’t seem to be connected to the support ring. Plain carbon steel will do; stainless steel is too sticky, making drilling difficult

Carbon steel can be used; welding different types of steel together is possible, and it’s easier to drill holes in stainless steel
Stainless steel is good as it won’t contaminate the equipment
Several stainless steel lugs are welded to the housing, with the carbon steel support rings welded directly to those lugs. It avoids the welding of dissimilar steels while ensuring that the heat insulation support ring is made of carbon steel.
