What checks and preparations are required before powering on the control cabinet?
If you are the end user, you should have the DCS manufacturer present to conduct a thorough inspection before powering on the DCS control cabinet. Actually, the inspection covers just a few aspects: whether the power supply meets the manufacturer’s requirements, and whether the grounding meets the manufacturer’s requirements. If the signal wires of the instruments and equipment on site are already connected to the IO cards, each wire must be checked, and this should be done without power applied. Once all these tasks are completed, it can be powered on. To put it simply, a power-on check involves checking the power supply and grounding; as long as the manufacturer is involved, there’s no need to worry too much.
