We have a pipeline that, according to petrochemical standards, is classified as GC1; per **other standards, it should be classified as GC2. We designed it as GC1, but experts are asking us to change it to GC2. What impact will this have on our design?
It has no impact on the design. We have also encountered such a situation: the low-temperature medium was classified as GC1 according to SH3501, but experts suggested that it should be classified as GC2 based on the definitions for pressure pipeline classification; however, its inspection grade can be set at level 1 under SH3501. In other words, the classification of pressure pipelines should be understood literally; what needs attention should be given due attention, and those requirements that need to be raised should be raised.

That’s the case, but the experts insisted that we change it to GC2 in accordance with the literal definition of pressure pipeline classification. So I said that although the classification level for pressure pipelines can be lowered, the requirements for design, procurement, and construction should still follow those specified for GC1 and SHA/B/C1, That is, adhere to the stricter standards.
What is the standard number for the Petrochemical Regulations?
Isn’t the determination of GC1 based on TSGD0001? There’s no such thing as a petrochemical regulation. . . .
