Tripping in and out of the drill bit: In order to replace a dull drill bit, prepare core samples, repair equipment, or carry out other tasks in the well, it is necessary to lift the drill string along with the drill bit to the surface. There, the dull old drill bit is removed, and a newly selected drill bit is installed. Then, in the reverse order of tripping in, the drill string is lowered back to the original bottom of the well to resume drilling. The deeper the drilling goes, the more time is required for tripping the drill bit in and out, and the actual time spent on drilling actually decreases. Therefore, it is also the responsibility of engineers to choose appropriate drill bits in order to accelerate the drilling process, reduce the number of times the drill bit needs to be tripped in and out, and shorten the project timeline. 3. Mud and drilling The biggest feature of the rotary drilling method is the use of mud as the circulating fluid in the well. The first fluid used for drilling was \"water\"; as early as in ancient Egypt, people there used water to remove rock debris while manually rotating drills to drill wells up to twenty feet deep in quarry sites.
