What causes low oil pressure in the slag-breaking oil pump? What are the consequences of low oil pressure, and why is a protection mechanism against low oil pressure necessary? During normal operation, high oil pressure indicates a jamming issue; what causes low oil pressure?
The hydraulic pump of the slag breaker is equipped with a oil supply pressure adjustment bolt that can be used to adjust the inlet oil supply pressure online. If this adjustment does not yield any effect, it may be due to a blockage in the oil inlet of the hydraulic pump; this is usually caused by residual debris in the pipelines not being thoroughly cleaned during the initial setup phase of the slag breaker. In such cases, the machine must be stopped for repairs. Since the slag breaker serves as the final barrier to ensure proper slag discharge from the gasification furnace, any malfunction must be addressed immediately. When the operating conditions are normal and the slag mass has good fluidity, processing can be stopped for a short period of time; it should be resumed as soon as normal conditions are restored. Furthermore, if the oil supply pressure is too low, it will result in the hydraulic motor connected to the slag crusher not having sufficient power, preventing the crusher from rotating properly. Therefore, once the set interlock value is reached, the crusher will stop operating, and this is also done to protect the equipment.
What is the pressure difference on both sides of the oil filter?
There are many reasons for low oil pressure. I’ll list them roughly: 1. Excessively high oil temperature, 2. Too low viscosity, 3. Clogged inlet, 4. Mechanical failure, 5. Incorrect readings from instruments, 6. Too low oil level. Anyone with even a couple of years of experience in this field knows the reasons behind each of these issues. I won’t say more.
The filter you are referring to is located in the section from the circuit pipeline to the fuel tank; it has nothing to do with the low oil pressure at the inlet of the sludge breaker. Also, if the filter above becomes clogged, the pressure difference gauge will show an alarm.
