What type of valve should be chosen for the outlet valve? Also, what is the actual function of this outlet valve? I’ve reviewed some information; the outlet valves of rotary vacuum pumps are always fully open, so such valves serve no purpose in regulating flow. Moreover, since it’s a gas circuit, there’s no need to shut off the pipeline for maintenance
A Roots blower is a positive-displacement blower; whatever amount of air enters must also exit. A valve is installed at the outlet to shut off and service the Roots blower. Since the pressure in the blower is not high, any type of valve will do; for cost-effectiveness and ease of installation, a butterfly valve is a good choice
The actuator can be pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric for butterfly valves.
There are not many requirements regarding the type of outlet valve to be used; gate valves, globe valves, and ball valves are all suitable. It is correct that the outlet valve does not have a flow control function. The purpose of installing outlet valves is for purging and leak testing; furthermore, it seems to have become a* common practice to install valves at the inlet and outlet of pumps. Finally, some outlet valves are also missing.

Generally, the butterfly valve is closed tightly, but the outlet valve is still necessary; otherwise, the starting current will be too high. Also, if your system requires isolation, then a shut-off valve is necessary as well.
Valves are used to isolate rotary vane blowers; in my opinion, butterfly valves, gate valves, ball valves, and the like are better choices, while globe valves don’t seem to be very suitable
A butterfly valve will do; it meets the equipment’s process requirements and is cost-effective.
