Bosses, do you have any incident data related to explosions in the waste heat boilers of sulfuric acid plants (using pyrite or sulfur concentrate)? I want to conduct some job training, but it seems there’s no information available online about boiler explosions in sulfuric acid plants. Thank you!
What kind of information do you need regarding waste heat boilers?
Did the furnace tube explode? Or a hydrogen explosion?
I have heard of accidents involving the explosion of furnace tubes.
Due to an operator’s mistake, the alarm system for the feed water pump was turned off, causing Boiler No. 1 to run dry. Fortunately, no more water entered; otherwise it would have exploded.
