What are the differences and connections between the newbie’s pipeline characteristic table, the pipeline grade table, and the pipeline section material table? What is the main purpose of each table? Thank you all
Our pipeline grade table and pipeline material table are combined into one document; the pipeline grade material table specifies the materials to be used for each pipeline grade, the selection criteria, the wall thickness of the pipes, as well as the standards for elbows, tees, and reducers, and details regarding the ends of the pipes. It also covers information on flange types, sealing surfaces, and the dimensions and models of valves. It is a table per level, created before starting the modeling and piping of the project. The pipe specification sheet provides detailed information on each pipe, including its grade, size and wall thickness, starting point, operating temperature and pressure, design temperature and pressure, whether it is a GC pipe, the medium used for hydrostatic testing, the medium used for leak testing, as well as insulation and corrosion protection features.
Pipeline characteristic table, pipeline grade table, pipe section material table. The pipeline characteristic table is prepared by the process engineering department; its main contents include the starting and ending points of the pipeline, operating temperature and pressure, design temperature and pressure, as well as information regarding hydrostatic testing pressure, leakage testing, insulation, and corrosion protection. The pipeline grade table is provided by the piping specialty; it serves as the basis for determining the pressure grades of pipelines and fittings as well as for selecting appropriate materials. Generally, the process engineering department specifies the requirements (which mainly include the medium, temperature, and pressure). Through analysis, the pipe materials have their pressure ratings and wall thicknesses determined for different media at various temperatures and pressures. The pipe section material list is prepared by the piping department, specifying the length of each pipe and the number of fittings based on the pipe grade table.
This should be basic knowledge for designers, while the pipeline table provides a design basis for the owner’s operation and use.
The pipe section material list is used in piping design when it is not possible to create line drawings or pipe layout diagrams; it is essentially used to specify the materials required for things such as heat tracing and seal flushing, so that the construction party can calculate the costs. The route of the pipes can be determined based on the needs for heat tracing as well as the actual site conditions during construction
The accounts for the second and third floors are a bit different; which one is correct?
It’s more accurate to say the third floor. Our company follows the same standard; you can refer to the specification HG/T 20519-2009, which are the unified regulations on depths
Pipeline characteristic table – Line list; Piping class table – Piping class; Pipe segment material table – Materials take off (MTO) of piping
