A expansion ring is used for rotational sealing on the device; the ring has latches and no lubrication is applied, with a rotation speed of 1500 rpm/m； It turns out that the material used for the expansion ring was molybdenum-chromium cast iron; after operation for some time, grooves were formed in the outer sleeve as a result of friction with the expansion ring. Since the outer sleeve had already been treated with carburizing and quenching, it was decided to use another material instead, and at the same time, a company capable of manufacturing such expansion rings was sought
What’s the temperature approximately? Are there any requirements regarding leaks? Try using PEEK or PI; it might be beneficial for the outer layer.
