Stainless steel is not contaminated by carbon steel; rather, it is the high temperatures generated during welding stainless steel with carbon steel that lead to a decrease in the chromium content in stainless steel, resulting in deep-level contamination.
Contamination after contact occurs due to differences in carbon content, which lead to carbon transfer as a result of these variations. If this issue is not addressed, it becomes difficult for a passive film to form on the stainless steel in this area, thereby increasing the likelihood of corrosion there

Haha, the migration of atoms within metals isn’t that easy or rapid; the scratches on the surface of stainless steel caused by stacking disappear after pickling, and pickling serves the purpose of forming a dense oxide layer. Welding mainly results in the loss of stainless steel elements, leading to a chromium deficiency in the welded area and an increased risk of corrosion. Solvent treatment of the weld seam serves to reduce these differences in chemical composition.
