Seeking help: Discharging material from an evaporation crystallization reactor; the material is a chloride, the discharge temperature is 180 degrees, and the solid phase content is 70–80%. What type of discharge valve should be chosen, and what material should the valve be made of?
Depending on the properties of the material, chloride ions may be present; Due to the high solid content, it is recommended to use glass-lined valves; depending on the type of mixing, either upward or downward discharge valves can be used.
There are basically dedicated valves for discharge; both upward-opening and downward-opening discharge valves can be used

For valves, it is best to use up-and-down sliding discharge valves. As for the material, enamel and plastic can be used; if money is a constraint for the pipes, carbon steel can be employed, ensuring an appropriate margin of safety. Fluorinated lining for the wealthy
Can glass-lined steel withstand 180°C?
It is possible; glass-lined steel can withstand temperatures of 180 degrees or higher in various media (normal, acidic, alkaline). However, it should not be exposed to sudden changes in temperature – a sudden drop in temperature to 110 degrees or a sudden rise to 120 degrees is not acceptable
It’s so hard for me to choose a valve – solid materials tend to clog the valve core (requiring frequent cleaning), and it also needs to be resistant to high temperatures and corrosion:dizzy:
The upward (downward) swing type discharge valve is designed to prevent blockage of the valve core. During normal shutdown, the material (including the solid phase) does not enter the valve core chamber; when the valve is opened, the valve core is lifted to open the passage. It is recommended to continue stirring during discharge and apply a slight positive pressure.
