I obtained my assistant engineer certificate one year after graduating from undergraduate school, but I went on to pursue a master’s degree in the fourth year after my undergraduate graduation. I’ve graduated now, but is it better to apply for the intermediate level qualification based on my graduate studies or my undergraduate degree?
Generally, undergraduates can apply for the title after 5 years of holding the position of assistant engineer, while postgraduates can do so after 3 years in that role. It’s all calculated based on the amount of assistantship time; both undergraduates and postgraduates should be eligible, but it’s advisable to check with the HR department again.
