There is a DN25 fresh water line at the top of the DMDS tank in my hydrocracking unit. Could experts tell me what purpose this line serves?
DMDS is a corrosive medium; it is used only during the catalyst presulfurization process, in order to avoid corrosion of the equipment at other times. Usually, after DMDS is used, the DMDS remaining in the tank must be transferred into barrels for removal, while the residual DMDS in the tank and pipelines needs to be washed away with fresh water.
