Sometimes, after reducing the flow rate, it is necessary to shut down a set of crude oil nozzles symmetrically on site – what is the reason for this?
Each factory has different operating methods, and in my opinion this is due to the following two reasons: 1. During shutdowns, in the initial stage of reducing flow rate, it is entirely possible to use control valves for regulation; however, later on, control valves are not effective enough for precise flow control. In such cases, it is possible to restrict flow by shutting down the raw material nozzles, as these nozzles will have to be closed eventually anyway. 2. If it is necessary to reduce the flow rate during operation of the device, in my opinion, to maintain a constant linear velocity of the nozzles, one set of nozzles should be shut off symmetrically, so as to ensure the linear velocity at the outlets of the remaining nozzles and thus preserve the atomization effect. This is just my personal opinion; please correct me if I’m wrong.
Actually, the main consideration is the line speed; when the amount of material to be processed is low, one pair of nozzles is removed, leaving the other pair to maintain the line speed. At the same time, to prevent deviation of the flow in the four channels, the atomization effect is poor, and low line speeds may even lead to blockages
