The condensate recovery system in the factory is being modified, and all the steam traps are now installed horizontally. Some staff members suggested that the filter element of the Y-type filter should be oriented downward, but the original installation method involved having the filter element horizontal. Is this necessary? If so, please let me know the relevant standards and specifications. Thank you. . .
Personally, I think it’s downward. If installed horizontally, is it to block the lower part and leave the upper part?
There is no basis for this; the Y-shaped filter can be installed in either direction.
You should tell your colleagues that the condensate recovery system requires even more attention to water quality monitoring and flash vapor control.
The filter should preferably face downward, but space needs to be available below it for removal.
It must go downward; when there isn’t enough space below, it needs to be at a 45-degree angle. There’s no reason to install it horizontally
