The motor is a frequency conversion-specific motor of the model YPT200L-4; it is a 4-pole motor, so its speed at the power frequency of 50 Hz is 1470 revolutions per minute. As it is a frequency conversion-specific motor, its maximum operating frequency range is 3–100 Hz. However, for the slurry pump, the required frequency conversion range is actually 5–80 Hz, which corresponds to a motor speed range of 147–2352 revolutions per minute. This is the response from the electrical engineering team. Is this reasonable? Please help analyze it. Is such an assertion reasonable?

Isn’t the operating frequency of a normal motor 50 Hz? Can an inverter-driven motor operate at 80 Hz?

For this issue, it is recommended that the original poster check information regarding the starting methods of motors controlled by frequency conversion: constant torque starting at 0-50HZ, and constant power starting above 50HZ. **The base frequency of most of our motors is 50HZ. If high-speed operation is required, the manufacturer can design high-speed motors; however, as you mentioned, the motors supplied by the manufacturer are ordinary motors, and the only advantage of these is that they can operate at low speeds!
