An exhaust valve is installed at the outlet of rotary vane blowers. Is it necessary to have such an exhaust valve? What is the purpose of venting, and how is the diameter of the vent pipe determined based on the diameter at the fan outlet?
It's necessary. Rotary vane blowers are of the positive-displacement type and provide protection; otherwise, the cylinder may explode.
Practical experience: Using outlet flow restriction or inlet flow restriction on rotary vane blowers both result in an increase in operating current, and if this increase is excessive, the motor will trip. At least when the fan starts, it is required that the inlet valve and the outlet vent be fully open.
