We are adjusting the pressure of a control valve in a pipeline. First, we close the valves on both the high-pressure and low-pressure sides. Regarding pressure adjustment, is it possible to do so with both valves upstream and downstream of the control valve closed? If the valves upstream or downstream are open, can we open the high-pressure valve and close the low-pressure valve, then reopen the low-pressure valve after the control valve has completed the pressure adjustment? During this pressure adjustment process, the low-pressure valve remains closed – could there be a risk of excessive pressure damaging the low-pressure valve? Thank you.
It would be best to include a flowchart, as it will make things clearer.
I think the upstream valve should be kept open, and the low-pressure valve can be closed for those that carry the tanks downstream
I didn’t understand what you meant. Are the control valves you’re referring to self-acting control valves? Self-acting control valves can be adjusted as you mentioned, but static pressure and dynamic pressure are different – this needs to be taken into account!
Lz didn’t explain it very clearly! If it is a pressure control valve that can be operated directly, then why close the valves at the front and back?
Could the original poster first clarify what the purpose is? The manufacturer doesn’t even require installation; just one valve is enough to make the adjustments. Also, if both the front and rear valves are closed, is a pressure test being conducted?
I don’t understand – is it high pressure entering the tank and low pressure exiting? Or what? As for the control valve, as long as the pressure on the high-pressure side is below the design value, there is no problem~~
