I would like to ask how everyone handles protecting the instruments on site from rain. We wrap them in plastic sheeting to prevent dust and water damage, but our manager has asked us to find a better solution – an umbrella-like cover. Do anyone have any good suggestions? ! It should be easy to maintain, as well as look beautiful and impressive.
I forgot to mention it – it mainly applies to positioners for control valves or on/off valves.

In fact, it’s not the housing of the locator that gets flooded with water; instead, the water enters through the wire conduit. The wire conduit should be connected to the locator from the bottom upward, and not from above downward.
On-site instruments generally lack rain covers; protection from rain relies on sealing.
The outdoor valves in our company are wrapped with flame-retardant plastic tape and ropes.
Strongly agree with point 9. We’ve suffered a great loss in this regard; today’s instruments can generally meet the IP65 standard, which helps to prevent problems caused by rain. As long as you only tighten the lid and don’t lose the seal ring, you can rest easy. What cannot be prevented is the frequent meter burning caused by something entering through the protective tube.
