1. For circular pipes, when using a pitot tube to measure the flow velocity of the fluid, what depth of insertion is appropriate for the pitot tube relative to the pipe diameter? In other words, which part of the pipe diameter is closer to the average flow velocity? 2. Does the fact that the fluid measured by a pitot tube is a gas or a liquid affect the accuracy of the measurement results? 3. Is there any instrument for measuring gas density?
The calculation formula for a pitot tube was found to be: pressure difference = (1/2) * density * velocity squared. For air or flue gas, should the density of dry air (dry flue gas) or wet air (wet exhaust gas) be used?
The pitot tube should be inserted at the center of the pipe.
So, to get the average velocity of the fluid flowing through the pipe, should we take 1/2 of that calculated value? I need to calculate the flow rate based on speed
The pitot tube insertion depth should be between 1/3d and 1/2d (where d is the pipe diameter).
