We use high-temperature wet oxidation technology to treat alkaline slag, but the treated water has a high color intensity; the COD level is around 30,000 mg/L, the volatile phenols amount to about 650 mg/L, and the salt content ranges from 8% to 16%. We are looking for ways to address this issue, or wondering if there are any other processes that can help deal with the high salt content resulting from the treatment of alkaline slag
Which company’s technology do you use?
I’m new here; I’m not yet very familiar with which specific company’s technology it is. The problem I’m facing right now is related to this water issue.
The amount of alkaline slag isn’t large, so it’s simplest to spend some money to have it incinerated at a hazardous waste disposal facility. After burning, the organic substances inside are completely decomposed, and the alkali can neutralize the acidic gases in the combustion exhaust gases. Additionally, alkaline slag can definitely be treated through physical and chemical methods. I conducted experiments, and by some coincidence the slag turned into a clear liquid similar to water after such treatment, but I was unable to determine the reason for this; later on, I didn’t have the chance to conduct further experiments.
It can be subjected to sewage stripping treatment; it can be used as an alkali additive to reduce the ammonia nitrogen content in the sewage, while also lowering its own COD. Other waste materials can be recycled through exhaust gas recovery or burned in flares
