With the process flow diagram and the order form, can we start working? What should be done?
Process designers need to provide you with the process parameters for each measurement point and valve installation location (diameter, temperature, pressure, flow rate, liquid level, pH, viscosity, etc.). You need to choose appropriate measurement methods based on the specific processes, and provide the parameters required for ordering instruments so that the manufacturer can design them. The manufacturer will then send you the data related to these instruments, allowing you to create installation and wiring diagrams. You also need to work together with your colleagues to develop a Gantt chart for tracking the project schedule, as well as to prepare a budget for the equipment and materials required (estimates should be made during the feasibility study phase). If you are responsible for the automation aspect of the project, you will also need to collaborate with the electrical team to complete the automation design. During the construction phase, programming and debugging tasks must be carried out. If you are the general contractor, you will also be responsible for providing on-site technical guidance and coordination.
Basically, a PID diagram, instrument process data sheets, logical descriptions, and explanations of complex circuits should be sufficient. For some instrument manufacturers, providing funds is a matter that occurs during the ordering stage; generally, no such funding is required from them during the design stage.
