On August 9, 2015, the first phase of the Henan Jinjiang Refining and Chemical Plant’s project for producing hydrogen from coke oven gas at a capacity of 300 million cubic meters per year, constructed by Sinochem Second Construction, was successfully commissioned, producing hydrogen of qualified purity of 99.99%. Located in Jiyuan City, Henan Province, this project has a total investment of around 230 million yuan; it is used to supply hydrogen for Sinopec Luoyang Branch’s refinery expansion project with an annual processing capacity of 18 million tons.
The Beisan Tai Circular Industrial Park in Jimusaer County, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, was invested and constructed by Xinjiang Palafi Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd. It is designed to produce 60,000 tons per year of F-T fine chemicals, of which approximately 42,000 tons per year will be fischer-tropsch wax, and around 18,000 tons per year will be liquid sulfur-free and aromatic-free solvents. Main construction contents of the project: The main facilities include gas generation units, compression and shift units, hydrogen production units, P-T synthesis units, gas purification units, etc.; supporting facilities such as gas holders, loading/unloading stations and tank areas, flares, and living and office areas are also constructed. Qinghua Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., part of Inner Mongolia Qinghua Group, has built a facility for the purification of coke oven gas and its conversion into hydrogen, with a capacity of 50,000 Nm3/h. This facility was designed by Sichuan Tianyi Technology Co., Ltd., and it serves as a source of hydrogen for the tar hydrogenation unit.
