In the golden month of October, amid the biting cold winds, looking back on this year, there have been so many remarkable moments that came to an end, as well as numerous stories of sowing and reaping. That year, the MTBE/1-butene plant stood on this land in a brand-new appearance ； That year, the MTBE/1-butene plant operated safely for 240 days without any incidents ； During this year, 334 issues were identified in the MTBE/1-butene plant: 21 design flaws, 245 quality-related problems, and 68 unfinished tasks, all of which were largely rectified ； That year, the hydrostatic testing of 21 heat exchangers in the MTBE/1-butene plants was successfully completed, with all passing the tests ； During this year, the pipeline hydrotesting for the MTBE/1-butene plant was completed, with all tests passing ； This year, the purging of over 500 pipelines in the MTBE/1-butene plant is coming to an end. Sow safely, reap health. From the very beginning of their time at the factory, they never neglected safety training. Every Monday afternoon, they make it a point to spend 1 hour reviewing the safety issues from the previous week ； At the same time, the safety measures for this week were reiterated. As summer arrived, they conducted emergency drills to prevent heatstroke ； They actively participate in various safety training sessions organized by the company and their department. They simply want to keep safety in mind, ensure the safe operation of the equipment, and safeguard their own health and safety. Sow knowledge, reap skills. They make use of every available moment to charge their devices in a timely manner. Contact the instrumentation team for training on basic instrumentation knowledge and DCS operation skills ； Attend pressure vessel safety training ； A simulation competition for this position was held. They hope to become as familiar as possible with the equipment, instruments, and production processes, so that they can spot problems promptly during the three inspections and four adjustments. Sow sweat, reap peace of mind. Since May, they have started inspecting the internal components of the tower. Every day, carrying a flashlight and a level, I start climbing the tower. The space inside the tower is cramped; the walkway for moving up and down is only 85 centimeters long and 35 centimeters wide, making it very difficult to take each step. On each tray level, they need to carefully check the orientation of the guiding float valves and ensure that no float valves are missing. They use a level to check the levelness of the trays, as well as the height of the gap at the bottom of the liquid distribution plates and the height of the overflow weir. Additionally, they check for any waste such as gloves, cigarette butts, plastic bags, etc., left behind by construction workers. There were only a few manholes in the tower for ventilation, making it extremely stuffy; there was no time to stop and wipe sweat as one had to carefully inspect each layer of trays. Even with such intensified inspections, they still need at least 1 minute per tray level. Although inspections inside the tower are cumbersome, it is worth the effort to ensure that each tower can operate properly. When we actually start operating the machine with the materials in use, we will feel confident. The MTBE/1-butene plant is a smaller facility. But though small, it has all the necessary components; this position combines reaction, distillation, and extraction processes, and it further enhances the skills of the operators. They keep in mind that they are the endpoints of the ethylene process; by doing so, the person in charge ahead of them won’t have to worry about anything. Only by taking care of both the beginning and the end can the entire department ensure smooth operation. My department serves as a link between oil refining and the chemical industry, being an indispensable key link in this process. Once my department is ready, refining and the chemical industry can be connected smoothly, allowing the company to get on the fast track for growth. We are all like tiny streams in the process of building a great river; by ensuring our own flow, we contribute to the mighty waves of that river. A job is the platform on which we rely to dedicate our youth and showcase our abilities; by performing our duties conscientiously, we contribute to ensuring the success of the company’s projects. Doing one’s own job well is the greatest contribution to a perfect project. When the noise returns to silence, when the blur turns into clarity, when the brilliance fades back to simplicity… we will continue to sow and continue to reap.
