Our unit is equipped with a reboiler, and the condensate line is fitted with two differential pressure bell-type float steam traps of the same size (connected in parallel). Under normal circumstances, they function properly for draining steam, but occasionally there are failures where steam drainage stops suddenly (once per month). Upon inspection, it was found that the heat exchanger was filled with condensate; after draining this condensate and restarting the system, normal operation was restored. Could that expert please help me analyze what the possible causes of this fault are? I’ll then check them one by one! Thank you.
It is recommended to replace it with a venturi-type drain valve; one such valve can replace two of the existing ones, and it does not require replacement or maintenance for 10 years, offering stable and reliable operation.
High condensate backpressure may cause non-hydrophobicity.
Does high back pressure mean high outlet pressure?

If there is pressure fluctuation in the pipeline, resulting in a pressure higher than the operating differential pressure of the steam trap, the size of the vent hole in the float inside the steam trap can be adjusted.
Continuous operation or intermittent operation? The valve nozzle may have been selected incorrectly, resulting in insufficient displacement.
