I was wondering if there are any relevant construction standards in place. At the chemical plant where I work, the chemical storage tanks are located about 50 meters away from the production and office buildings; these tanks contain hazardous substances such as ethylene, methane, and diesel, and I feel uneasy living there
Table 4.2.12 in the petrochemical regulations specifies this clearly; take a look and you’ll see.

The distance between the tank area and the office building is 50 meters, and this distance is not sufficient as a safety margin at present. How did this get approved in your place?
I’m still discussing this with my colleagues in charge of safety today, following the accident on 8.12. The fire separation distance is sufficient, but the explosion protection distance is definitely not enough. Can anyone find relevant evidence for this?
In Table 4.2.12 of the petrochemical regulations, I saw that it mentions fire separation distances, but what about explosion protection distances? If anyone has relevant experience, please let me know; I need to report this issue to my company’s management
The explosion-proof spacing needs to be determined by an evaluation report prepared by a safety assessment agency.

In the layout of a facility, what’s the concept of an explosion-proof distance? Considering the risk of explosion, how large should your factory area be? I’ve heard that central control rooms have blast-resistant structures; office buildings don’t even have that, right?
Check the safety assessment report from the project approval process; it contains data on the explosion radius and the distance at which damage occurs.
