In our facility, the 50% distillation points of the catalyzed crude gasoline and the stabilized gasoline are approximately 116°C and 103°C respectively (both values represent monthly averages). Why is there such a large difference between the two? Waiting for experts to give guidance!
The components in crude catalytic gasoline are unstable; some dienes polymerize to form heavier components, and the composition of these components changes depending on the environment and time. Meanwhile, stable gasoline has relatively stable components. There are significant differences in the composition of these two types of gasoline.
The crude gasoline fraction contains some liquefied gas components, which affects the 50% point; but why is the value higher for crude gasoline? Were the data written in reverse?
Senior, apart from the reasons you mentioned, there is also a significant difference in the operating pressure between the two: 0.1 Mpa for crude gasoline, whereas it is 1.0 Mpa for stabilized gasoline. Is that so? :lol
This post was last edited by qugd on 2015-8-20 22:42. It is related to the fact that stable gasoline contains a slightly higher amount of light components dissolved in it. In fact, the main function of the stable gasoline column in catalytic cracking is to introduce some liquefied gas into the gasoline fraction, while simultaneously removing some of the heavier components that result from polymerization. Furthermore, due to the high pressure in the stabilizer tower, the temperature of the components within the tower is also high; as a result, the components that are prone to polymerization rapidly form heavier components which are then removed from the bottom of the tower. By doing this, it is possible to increase gasoline production on the one hand, and to ensure that the quality of catalytic gasoline does not become too poor on the other hand.
