A colleague asked me a question: The situation is as follows – after the supply of nitrogen to the ethylene flare is stopped, noises are heard inside the flare; subsequently, noises are also heard in the small horizontal storage tank connected to the pipeline. Can it be determined whether the flame arrester in the pipeline has failed? Personally, I don’t think it’s due to a failed flame arrester; it’s likely that air mixed into the torch caused a local area to reach its explosion limit, which led to the airflow being forced back into the container through the flame arrester and generating noise. My professional skills are not sufficient; I hope everyone can offer their guidance
