Market trends: The price of caustic soda in Fujian remains relatively stable. Currently, the delivery price for 32% ion-exchange membrane caustic soda by local chlor-alkali manufacturers is around 770–810 yuan/ton, while traders offer it at 730–750 yuan/ton. The delivery price for 50% ion-exchange membrane caustic soda by these manufacturers to end-users is approximately 1180 yuan/ton, whereas traders sell it to end-users at around 1120 yuan/ton. The plants of local chlor-alkali enterprises are operating normally, with an ample supply of caustic soda. The purchasing activities in downstream industries such as textiles and papermaking are proceeding as usual, resulting in a moderate level of market transactions. The caustic soda market in Shandong region remains stable. Currently, the mainstream ex-factory price for 32% ion-exchange membrane caustic soda produced by local chlor-alkali enterprises is 530–570 yuan per ton, while the mainstream ex-factory price for 48–50% ion-exchange membrane caustic soda is 850–920 yuan per ton; higher prices are also available. Affected by the parade on September 3, some chlor-alkali manufacturers operated at reduced capacity, leading to limited market shipments and low enthusiasm among downstream buyers. Brief analysis of future market trends: Today, the domestic caustic soda market remained relatively stable. Recently, some chlor-alkali manufacturers in East and North China have continued to raise the ex-factory prices of caustic soda. Provinces along the Yangtze River Economic Belt are carrying out thorough safety inspections, which will directly affect the production and sales activities of these manufacturers. As a result, caustic soda prices are likely to rise in the short term. Given that there have been no significant changes in the supply and demand dynamics for caustic soda at present, it is expected that the domestic caustic soda market will remain largely stable in the short term.
