While reading foreign-language documents on chemical engineering, I encountered the term “Turndown” and was unable to understand its exact meaning; I hope everyone can help explain it. When describing the types of trays, sieve trays, floating valves, bubble caps, etc., are listed separately. In the column comparing operational flexibility, there is the term \"Ma*mum Turndown\" – does it refer to the minimum operating level? Additionally, all values given are percentages: 50% for sieve plates, 40% for floating valves, and 10% for bubble caps. Does this mean that the minimum operating value for bubble caps is 10%? I would appreciate advice from experienced sailors. Also, for some specialized terms, are there any corresponding translations? I hope everyone can provide them; thank you!
It should be operational flexibility, varying within a certain range above and below normal operating conditions.
