Currently, there is syngas containing about 35% carbon monoxide. The goal is to purify the carbon monoxide to over 98.5%, with nitrogen levels below 4%, oxygen levels below 5 ppm, and hydrogen, methane, and carbon dioxide levels all below 4 ppm. No domestic technology exists that can achieve this, so I am looking for anyone who is aware of any foreign technologies that could do it Could you provide the contact information? Thank you so much! Lüthhol has filter elements made from imported materials; these elements seem to be composed of 7-8 different materials. They present no resistance to carbon monoxide at all, while other gases can be completely absorbed by these filters, thereby achieving separation and purification. Such filter elements are very expensive
Isn’t cryogenic separation technology effective? You can check out things like Linde, AP, and Faye Sky.
I’m not very familiar with this. I’ve searched everywhere in China but almost couldn’t find anything that meets the requirements. Is it possible to get in touch with suppliers abroad?
The CO purification process is well-developed, and achieving three nines is definitely no problem. But with such low requirements for impurities, no one dares to give you an easy guarantee. Large-scale cryogenic applications – as already mentioned, companies abroad can handle them, while in China, Hangyang, Kaikong, and Hangzhou Zhongtai are also capable of doing so. If the scale is not large, pressure swing adsorption can also be used for purification; other trace components can be converted into water and CO2 through catalytic oxidation, followed by removal using molecular sieves. Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and Wuhan Huashuo can carry out catalytic oxidation; Tianyi, Peking University, West China University, Tianli, and many pressure swing adsorption plants can purify CO. However, it’s unreasonable to have such high requirements for methane and CO2 when the requirements for nitrogen are not that strict.
Not sure about the dosage? If the amount used is small, it can be produced jointly with other processes.
I’m not sure what type of chemical products you produce. For acetic acid production, the carbon monoxide required was purified using methanol synthesis gas through two-stage PSA; the technology employed was that developed by Peking University Pioneer. You can reach out to domestic PSA suppliers for more information
Purify CO? Thinking backwards, to remove CO2 and H2S to limited levels, the amine method or low-temperature methanol washing can be used; for the remaining CO and hydrogen, PSA or membrane separation will suffice
Are there any **standards** for the deep cryogenic separation of CO?
