Can steam be used for purging during the shutdown of reformation pre-hydrogenation? Where is the steam used for purging usually located in your facility? Thank you to all the experts; here we use steam for purging at that location, while other places use temporary connections
I’m not sure if this is correct, but 1) before starting the cleaning process, all the inlet and outlet valves on the coolers should be closed, and the drain valve should be opened to empty any water remaining in them. (2) Sweep the main pipe first, then the branch pipes; sweep the auxiliary pipes first, and then the control valves, with a short purging time for the control valves. Steam must not be allowed to enter the inlet pump chamber; the inlet pump can be purged only after a blind flange is installed on the inlet flange of the pump chamber. (3) During the purging process, attention must be paid to dehydration at the bottom of each tower and vessel to strictly prevent water hammer.
