What are mandatory standards? Mandatory standards are those that start with GB; they are standards for which legal provisions require that the technical requirements specified in them must be fulfilled, and it is not allowed to violate or modify them for any reason or in any way. Mandatory **standards have legal status. Once mandatory **standards are issued, they must be implemented. Otherwise, the units and individuals responsible for severe consequences and significant losses will face economic sanctions or legal liability. Mandatory **standards mainly establish restrictive inspection requirements for certain imported and exported goods related to safety and hygiene, in order to protect human health as well as the safety of persons and property. Export goods that fail the inspection and evaluation in accordance with mandatory **standards shall not be approved for export, even if they meet the quality specifications stipulated in the foreign trade contract or there is proof of willingness to purchase from the recipient party abroad. Imported goods that fail the mandatory **standard inspection and assessment are also not allowed to be imported; after inspection and issuance of certificates, they are provided to relevant parties for return or claim processing. In our country, for imported and exported goods that are subject to mandatory **standards**, these are clearly stipulated by **laws and regulations**, and are strictly enforced by the local entry-exit inspection and quarantine authorities. In case of special circumstances, it is necessary to report promptly to the **Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau for decision. Scope of mandatory **standards: China’s Standardization Law stipulates that standards and laws aimed at protecting human health and physical and property safety, as well as those required to be enforced by laws and administrative regulations, are considered mandatory standards. The technical requirements in the following areas are all mandatory **standard scopes: (1) Drug standards, food hygiene standards, veterinary drug standards ; (2) Safety and hygiene standards for products as well as for their production, storage, transportation, and use; labor safety and hygiene standards; transportation safety standards ; (3) Quality, safety, and health standards for project construction, as well as **other construction standards that need to be controlled ; (4) Pollution discharge standards and environmental quality standards for environmental protection ; (5) Important general technical terms, symbols, codes, and drawing methods ; (6) General standards for testing and inspection methods ; (7) Interchange fit standards ; (8)**Important product quality standards that need to be controlled ;
