When a construction project is completed, it is necessary to dismantle the tower cranes set up at the site. However, this period is also often a time when accidents are frequent. Based on past successes and failures, the dismantling workers have developed steps for safely dismantling tower cranes, and have come to realize the importance of cooperation with the tower crane operators. The details are as follows: First, the tower crane operator lowers the steel wire rope and hook, after which the dismantling crew removes the hook and the fixed end of the lifting rope from the tower crane. The steel wire rope is then retracted onto the drum and wound up properly. Next, the lifting trolley needs to be retracted and fixed at the base of the boom, the luffing rope must be retracted onto the drum, and the cables of the luffing mechanism should be removed. Finally, remove the 3 counterweights and the boom in sequence, then take off the last counterweight, the balance arm, the cab, and the top of the tower. Remove the fixing joint and rotation mechanism of the upper turntable, as well as those of the lower turntable. Dismantle the tower body (following the reverse procedure to that used for erecting it) and the tower crane base frame.
