The new SIS system added to our factory. All the temperatures inside are dry contacts output from the MTL5575 safety barrier. May I ask whether this overreported dry contact needs to be configured in the safety barrier using an MTL programming cable, or something of that kind?
Of course, we need it. Just think about it: if there is no configuration, how could there be high-level alarm outputs, and when such alarms occur? All of this is determined by configuration.
A dedicated cable must be used, along with software for configuration, and the alarm output is set as a percentage of the upper limit of the range.
It needs to be connected using PCL45USB and then configured.
According to the design specifications, SIS does not allow this to be done; it is impossible to rely on the safety of the entire plant on a single dry contact in a small safety relay. What you mentioned is indeed the MTL safety gate programming cable. If you really want to solve this problem, you must replace it with a safety barrier that has 1 input and 2 outputs
