The overhead crane in the liquid chlorine warehouse is not extended outside the garage; is it possible for vehicles to enter the warehouse when loading and unloading cylinders? What is the total weight of a ton of steel cylinders including the cylinders themselves? Is a 2-ton crane not too small for this task? Can gas cylinders that are not in use be stored in a warehouse?
The safety manual is rather vague; it only states that lifting equipment should be used. However, I’ve seen in many factories that the lifting equipment isn’t placed outside the warehouse. As a result, vehicles still have to go into the warehouse during loading and unloading. Is this really acceptable? It is also stated that the tonnage of the lifting equipment should be more than twice the weight of the steel cylinder; a 1-ton steel cylinder contains 1 ton of liquid chlorine, but the weight of the cylinder itself is not specified. In principle, vehicles are not allowed to enter the warehouse. But due to limited conditions, it’s still possible to enter with a flame arrester! 1 ton plus the gas cylinder – I guess your crane is too small!

The weight of a 1-ton liquid chlorine cylinder including the bottle is generally around 1.45 tons, not exceeding 1.5 tons.
