Hello everyone, does anyone know whether pressure vessels used in China can adopt foreign design standards? Under what circumstances can this be done, and how to create a program for it? Those who know please share your opinions and views; thank you very much
It should be possible; however, the design agency needs to submit the design documents along with a statement confirming that they meet safety requirements. You can refer to Article 3.1 of the Fixed Capacity Regulations for more details
General design standards are implemented in accordance with the requirements of the client; in China, as long as your standard’s safety level is at or above the local design standards, it is acceptable.
Thank you for your reply. Do you know how to carry out this process?
For this design, is only ASME indicated on the drawings? Should we also strengthen the tolerance specifications? Is supervision by a local special inspection center required during the manufacturing process? Is a release inspection certificate required? Would an AI signature still be needed in that case? Do we still need to stamp it with the ASME mark? Can a registration plaque be provided upon use? Those who have done this, please share your implementation details. Thank you
Such containers must comply with the Solid Waste Containers Regulations; inspection and certification are required, and a separate nameplate must be provided. Whether AI is needed depends on whether the client requires an ASME stamp.
Those used domestically certainly meet domestic standards; this is a red line. As for what standards you want to meet on this basis, it’s up to you.
After designing according to foreign standards, the manufacturing entity must obtain the corresponding manufacturing license, such as ASME...
It definitely needs to be inspected by the Special Inspection Agency. I’ll ask about the specific procedures and get back to you.
There is a principle stating that whenever a pressure vessel is used within China and falls under the scope of the Regulations on the Safety Supervision of Special Equipment, it must comply with the provisions of relevant safety technical standards such as the Fixed Pressure Vessels Regulations and the Mobile Pressure Vessels Regulations. In other words, it must be subject to the supervision outlined in these regulations, as well as meet the required design and manufacturing standards. The standards to be adopted should be specified in the business contract, and any other necessary qualifications must also be specified therein!
Thank you so much for your generous help; I appreciate it once again and look forward to your reply
